Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use bitpute.com. The short version: the calculators run entirely in your browser, we don't ask you to create an account, and the personal data we handle is close to none. The longer version follows, because the law rightly asks for detail.

Who is responsible

Bitpute operates this website. For anything in this policy, contact hello@bitpute.com. For readers in the EU/EEA and the UK, Bitpute is the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR.

What we collect, and what we don't

Calculator inputs. Everything you type into a calculator (model choice, GPU, context length and so on) is processed by JavaScript in your own browser. It is not sent to our server, not stored by us, and not visible to us.

Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage under a single key ("theme"). It never leaves your device and you can clear it through your browser settings at any time.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard access logs when pages are requested: IP address, time, requested URL, browser type. This is how virtually every web server on earth works. We use these logs only for security and to keep the site running (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are rotated and deleted on the hosting provider's standard schedule.

Email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your message and then a reasonable period afterwards, in case the thread continues. We don't add you to any list.

No accounts, no tracking pixels, no analytics scripts are on this site at the time of the "last updated" date above. If that changes, this policy changes first.

Advertising

Ads are not currently served on Bitpute. If we introduce ads (for example Google AdSense) to keep the site free, then while ads are active, Google and its certified partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, personalised ads will only be shown if you give consent through a consent banner (which will be added before any ads go live); if you decline, ads will be non-personalised or limited. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Since we hold almost nothing, most requests are quick: email hello@bitpute.com and we will respond within one month as the law requires.

Where processing is based on consent (the ad cookies mentioned above), you can withdraw that consent at any time through the consent banner, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Children

This site is a set of hardware calculators and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

International readers

The site is hosted on servers that may be located outside your country. Where data (such as server logs) is transferred outside the EU/EEA, the hosting provider relies on recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be mentioned on the homepage for a period after they take effect.
